Chris MacFarland's summer to-do list got a lot shorter Thursday when he signed Brock Nelson, but that doesn't mean he's done.

Colorado's general manager awarded Nelson, who will turn 34 at the start of next season, a three-year extension that will see the veteran forward carry a $7.5 million cap hit moving forward.
