RICHARDSON, Texas — Former Dallas Cowboys player Greg Hardy was arrested in Richardson on a charge of assault of a family member, according to jail records.

Hardy was booked into the Richardson jail at 2:29 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of assault causing bodily injury to a family member, according to records.

Hardy's bond was set at $1,000, jail records show. Around noon, Hardy was seen leaving the jail, where someone picked him up.

More details about the case were not released. Richardson police officials confirmed the arrest but said they were waiting on Hardy's arraignment to release an arrest warrant affidavit.
