LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - The 44th Circuit Court in Livingston County will receive $100,000 to fight truancy in middle school students.
The funds will be used to create a new truancy diversion program for middle schoolers who have missed more than 25 school days in the past year.
The program aims to find the root cause of truancy and offer individualized planning to get kids back in school. The State Court Administrative Office, Michigan Committee on Juvenile Justice, and the Department of Health and Human Services distributed the funds.
