HAMPTON, Va. — Two teens have been arrested after a high school student reported being robbed while waiting near a bus stop, according to the Hampton Police Division.

According to a statement sent by Tanya Howard, executive principal at Bethel High School, the Thursday morning incident happened at a bus stop near Goldsboro Drive and Orcutt Avenue.

Police say two people approached the high schooler, implying they had a weapon. Then, they "demanded property and physically assaulted" the teen. They fled the scene in a vehicle that had been reported stolen, police say.

A traffic stop was initiated less than two miles away near Big Bethel Road and Burton Street. Police say the driver did not stop, and the vehicle crashed at the end of Wimbledon Terrace. Two people ran from the vehicle and we
