JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KATV) — Jacksonville Police and fire officials are investigating after an explosion took place today at the Sig Sauer Ammunition Center in Jacksonville.
The Ammunition Center is an advanced manufacturing facility that produces ammunition for the U.S. Army.
Jacksonville Police did not say what caused the explosion but were able to confirm that nobody was injured.
In a post to their Facebook page, police ask that residents avoid the areas of Swift Drive and Marshall Road as well as Samuels Road and Commerce Drive.
Police said that they have turned their investigation over to the Jacksonville Fire Department.
