KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Jac Caglianone is on the board.
It took the Kansas City Royals’ top prospect until his seventh MLB at-bat to record a hit, but when he did it delivered a run.
Caglianone ripped a double down the right field line at Busch Stadium in the top of the fourth inning of Kansas City’s first game of a split doubleheader on Thursday.
The hopeful future star of the Royals drove in the longtime present star for Kansas City, providing the Royals with a 2-0 lead in the game.
Caglianone’s first hit was hit 91.4 miles per hour, ironically a bit lower of an exit velocity than several balls he recorded outs on throughout his 0-for-5 debut on Tuesday night.
Here’s what the first hit sounded like on the radio with Steve Stewart on the call.
