OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Department of Health and Human Services is sending out its third issuance of Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer benefits Thursday, according to a release from Nebraska DHHS.

Throughout the summer period, households with eligible school-age children can receive help with groceries with a one-time $120 payment issued for each child, intended to cover the three summer months for $40 per month.

Summer EBT cards will be mailed to families using their registered address with DHHS or their child’s school.

Eligible families will have 122 days to use the summer benefits. The count begins the day after benefits are issued.

More issuances will be announced and sent on June 26, July 17, Aug. 12, and Sept. 9.
