PULASKI, Va. (WDBJ) - A man is in custody after, police say, he tried to destroy narcotics as he was being arrested.
Charges are pending against Meril Isadore Brown, Jr.
Pulaski Police say about 10:30 a.m. June 5, 2025, they saw a man, wanted on other charges, driving in the area of Bell Street. Officers puled him over and tried to take him into custody, at which point he tried to destroy “a large quantity of narcotics and resisted arrest,” according to police.
Brown and two officers were treated for possible fentanyl exposure, according to police, who say Brown was taken to the New River Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond.
