Since Wednesday, environmental officials have been trying to clean up a 2,000-gallon oil spill in Maryland that has given one of the state’s harbors a red tint.

The spill happened Wednesday in Baltimore's Harbor East area, the Maryland Department of the Environment shared during a briefing this week. The red color in the water is from dyed diesel fuel, and the spill has had no impact on drinking water, the agency said.

The department added that state, city, and federal agencies are working the case.
