WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- A Pennsylvania lawyer has died from self-inflicted injuries that happened after being charged with stealing from a client, District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli said.

Robert C. Klingensmith, 61, was charged May 29 after allegedly stealing $311,000 from a woman's estate. When police went to Klingensmith's office, they reported hearing a single gunshot from inside.

After a brief standoff, Klingensmith emerged from his office with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police alleged he refused to obey commands and had to be tased. He was then taken to a nearby hospital.
