The City of Irondale has secured two grants totaling $110,000 to upgrade Beacon Park, one of the community’s most popular green spaces.

The funding will enhance the walking track and install a new state-of-the-art Fitness Court® at Beacon Park

Two fitness-related grants

According to Mayor James D. Stewart, Jr., Irondale was selected as a 2025 recipient of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama National Fitness Campaign Grant. The $50,000 grant will support the installation of a new Fitness Court®, with the goal to promote accessible and inclusive outdoor exercise for residents of all ages.
