Legendary alternative rock band Cake will headline this year’s Sound Summit, which takes place at Mount Tamalpais’ Mountain Theater from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 13. The band performed at the Mount Tam Jam in 2013, the show that inspired producer Michael Nash to launch Sound Summit in 2015.

The music festival’s 10th installment will also feature acclaimed Canadian pop-rock band Alvvays; Stand!, a tribute to iconic Bay Area band Sly and the Family Stone featuring San Rafael resident Narada Michael Walden, guitarist Taj Mahal and others; indie rockers Real Estate, whose bassist is West Marin resident Alex Bleeker; and folk rockers Wolf Jett. Vetiver’s Andy Cabic returns as the all-day DJ, and Brian Murphy and Paul McCaffrey, the former duo of KNBR’s “Murph & Mac” show, host.
