Opp Mayor Becky Bracke announced on Thursday that she is running for re-election.

Bracke was first elected as mayor in 2017. Election day is August 26.

"I am honored to announce my candidacy for a third term as your Mayor. Over the years, we have worked together to strengthen our community, support local businesses, and create opportunities for growth. Your trust and support have been the driving force behind every initiative we've undertaken," Bracke said on Facebook. "As we look ahead, I remain committed to building a brighter future for Opp. One that prioritizes economic development, infrastructure improvements, and the well-being of every resident. With your continued support we can keep moving forward and make Opp an even better place to live, work, and thrive."
