ESCANABA — Racing action is now in full swing at the Escanaba Motor Speedway. Last Sunday marked the second race of the 2025 season before the races started.

Daily Press sports reporter Adam Hinch got a chance to sit down with sportsman sprints rookie Dalton Gustavson to discuss a number of topics.

Adam Hinch: What got you interested in racing?

Dalton Gustavson: I saw my dad and brother racing and I thought it would be fun so I decided to get into it.

AH: What are your goals for yourself in your rookie season?

DG: To get first place in at least one race this year.

AH: What do you like to do in your free time?

DG: I like to play football, soccer, basketball and ride dirt bikes.

AH: Are you a video gamer? If so, what is your favorite game?

DG: Yeah. I like to play Farming Simulator
