KENT, Wash. — A recently fired employee returned to a Kent business with a gun on Thursday and was found dead after a fire broke out, according to the Kent Police Department.
The Kent Police Department responded to the 6600 block of South 216th Street for reports of a former employee with a gun who was making threats to employees. Witnesses reported the man was carrying a gas can.
The former employee, identified by police as a 55-year-old Federal Way man, was found in the warehouse of the business. Police said he was not cooperating.
At some point, "multiple fires" were set in the back of the warehouse and police retreated. Gunshots were fired, police said, but it's not clear if the officers or the former employee fired the shots.
