Victor Wembanyama ’s 2024-25 NBA season has been notably underwhelming compared to his previous year. On February 20, the Spurs made the difficult decision to sideline him for the remainder of the season following the diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder.
Without Wembanyama’s presence, the Spurs faced considerable challenges. They ultimately finished the regular season in a disappointing 13th place in the Western Conference with a 34-48 record. Before this setback, Wembanyama delivered impressive numbers, averaging 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. He also led the league with an outstanding 3.8 blocks over 46 games.
