A teenager has been charged in connection with a street takeover in April in Ansonia where a number of people surrounded a police cruiser before one of them threw a traffic cone into the windshield.
The juvenile, 17, was charged on Wednesday with reckless driving, racing, operating without a license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating with no insurance, according to Lt. Patrick Lynch of the Ansonia Police Department .
Lynch said the teen was charged following a street takeover on April 26 on Wakelee Avenue. Police previously said an officer who responded to the incident found between 50 to 100 people in the street along with several dozen cars on the road, some of which were being driven erratically, and fireworks that were being set off.
