At Tuesday’s Porterville City Council meeting Monache staff first responders, who were on scene during a stabbing that took place on May 19, and the victim were honored.

On May 19 former Monache student 19 year old Noah Serrate was accused of walking onto the Monache High School campus, finding his way into a classroom and stabbing 15 year old student Lyssette Rodriguez in the leg. On Tuesday night, Monache staff and first responders who helped apprehend Serrate were honored along with Rodriguez at the City Council Meeting.
