BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The La Pine Community Kitchen is launching a major fundraising campaign to build a brand-new facility — one that organizers say will allow them to serve more people more safely and efficiently.

For nearly three decades, the nonprofit has operated out of a patchwork of aging structures, offering hot meals, groceries, and a place of dignity to those in need. But now, with demand growing and space limited, Executive Director Lisa Dailey says it's time for a change.

“Our current kitchen is full of heart, but it’s not built for what we’re doing today,” Dailey said. “This new building means refrigeration space, a proper dining area, and the ability to serve more meals to more people.”

The capital campaign kicked off this month, with community members already stepping up
