AMHERST, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - People are finding ways to take advantage of the summer weather, especially at recreational areas. Some people took to the water, including several at Puffer’s Pond in North Amherst.
There were plenty of visitors when our Western Mass News crew arrived shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday. Some were putting their feet in the water, while others decided to take the time to read a book. Francesca Sloan of Amherst enjoyed the day with a couple of friends. “We love to come here during the summer. It’s very nice layout. We like to get sun here. The water’s nice. It’s a great place to be,” she said.
Sloan said she and her friends was planning on having a bonfire and ice cream later in the day. Meanwhile, Giancarlo Crivelli of Springfield runs a nonprofit called Fishing
