COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Lexington-Richland School District Five announced that the school district suffered a major hack impacting all district software.

The district said it has launched an investigation after a “data security incident” was detected. A spokesperson added that LR5 is also working with law enforcement and third-party specialists in the investigation.

The school district sent the following statement to WIS:

“School District Five has detected a data security incident in its network environment. In response, we immediately launched an investigation with the assistance of law enforcement and third-party specialists to determine the nature and extent of the issue.
