(WKOW) -- Aaron Rodgers is intending to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, NFL Network insiders report.

It has been unclear all offseason if and where the former Packers quarterback would play after departing from the New York Jets.

NFL Network insiders say Rodgers plans to fly to Pittsburgh on Friday to sign a 1-year deal before the start of minicamp next week.

Rodgers is coming off a disappointing season with the Jets after high expectations going into the season. The team finished 5-12.

The Steelers will host the Packers on Sunday Night Football on Oct. 26.
