MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A search is underway for two men who Memphis police say brandished guns at a person who confronted them for shoplifting bags of Cheetos.
The Memphis Police Department says the suspects, who have not yet been identified, now face assault charges.
MPD reports that the crime occurred at the Citgo gas station located at 5935 Knight Arnold Road in the early morning hours of Wednesday.
Police say two men went inside, took several bags of Cheetos, and left without paying.
A witness followed the suspects out of the store, where the thieves pointed a rifle and a handgun at the victim before taking off in a tan Hyundai SUV with a black bumper.
The men were captured on surveillance video. So far, no arrests have been made.
