WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - The new home of a life-saving tool opened Wednesday in Wakulla County to enhance emergency care for residents and visitors throughout the area.

Air Methods, an air medical service provider, announced the arrival of the Airlife Florida 1 team based in Crawfordville, according to a press release from the company.

“This expansion allows for faster response times to emergency calls, offering 24/7 care for patients suffering from trauma events, heart attacks, strokes, pediatric emergencies, burns, motor vehicle accidents and more,” the press release said.

The team operates a Bell 407GXi helicopter that functions as a “flying ICU,” according to the press release.
