SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - A woman has been found not guilty of some charges related to the death of Michigan State Police Trooper.
On Wednesday, June 4, the trial began for Brooke Lynette Allen, one of two people accused of having a role in the death of Trooper Joel Popp.

Popp was struck by a car while conducting a traffic stop on northbound I-75 in Birch Run on Jan. 24, 2024. He was taken to Hurley Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
Allen was facing charges of operating while intoxicated causing death, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison. She was the driver of a vehicle that was sitting in a moving lane of traffic on I-75.
According to court records, a jury found Allen guilty of a lesser charge,
