ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The most pressing task of Georgia Tech baseball’s offseason was naming a new head coach to succeed the retiring Danny Hall .

The program wasted no time, naming associate head coach James Ramsey to the position.

Ramsey joined the Yellow Jackets’ staff as hitting coach in 2019 and has since served as recruiting coordinator and assistant head coach.

The Jackets have seen remarkable success with Ramsey on staff; they’ve led the ACC in batting average, doubles, hits, on-base percentage, OPS and sacrifice flies and landed six top-20 recruiting classes since his arrival. Four of those classes were ranked in the top five, including a 2024 class that ranked No. 2 nationally.
