Former Detroit Tigers relief pitcher and 2015 first-round draft pick Carson Fulmer is headed back to the Los Angeles Angels on a minor-league contract, according to the MiLB.com transaction log.
Fulmer (no relation to former Tiger Michael Fulmer) spent the beginning of the 2025 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Triple-A affiliate on a minor-league deal.
After making 13 appearances, Fulmer, 31, was released on June 2 before signing with the Angels on Wednesday.
Detroit claimed the former Vanderbilt standout off waivers in July 2020 after the Chicago White Sox DFA’d their former top draft pick.
Once one of the top pitching prospects in the league, Fulmer never found the control needed to nail down a role with a major-league club.
Fulmer would make seven appearances out of the bullpen
