WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI — Senior centers across Washtenaw County are expected to see substantial boosts in annual funding from a new countywide tax for services that benefit people 60 or older .

But how many to include on a list of centers that would receive at least $200,000 this year from the county’s millage for older adults has been a topic of debate.

To date, the proposed list of centers that would receive $200,000 distributions stands at 10, but some county officials have called for more centers to receive funds immediately.

More centers and organizations will be able to request funds, at some point in the near future. County officials are expected to launch a request for proposals process, which any senior centers and other organizations that serve seniors can use to apply for fun
