FREDERICKSBURG, Md. (DC News Now) -- A man was arrested Tuesday for a hit-and-run that occurred in a McDonald's drive-thru in Fredericksburg, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.
Police said a woman was rear-ended by a man who appeared to be driving under the influence as she was waiting in the drive-thru. She got out of her car to confront him, but he drove away from the scene toward Route 1 Southbound.
According to police, the McDonald's employees had captured the suspect's license plate and shared the information with law enforcement.
Police said officers quickly located the vehicle where the driver appeared to show "clear signs of impairment" and admitted to hitting the woman's car, claiming he had "zoned out."
