COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) — The low pressure system responsible for rain since yesterday is forecast to shift east late today.
Isolated showers and storms will be possible through early this evening, but skies are forecast to clear out as the night goes on.
Tonight will be muggy with lows in the mid to upper 60s.
Tomorrow will be partly cloudy, humid and hotter with afternoon highs near 90 and peak heat index values in the mid 90s.
While most of the Midlands is forecast to stay dry on Friday, an isolated strong storm or two can't be ruled out late in the day.
The Storm Prediction Center has the northwest half of the area in a level 1 marginal risk for severe wind.
The heat will only get worse on Saturday with highs in the low to mid 90s and peak heat index values near 100.
