OREGON, Ohio — A beekeeper who was injured in a crash while working alongside an Oregon road Wednesday has died, police said.

According to Oregon police, 35-year-old William (Bill) Crawford died Thursday as a direct results of injuries he suffered in the crash.

Crawford, of Southwick, Massachusetts, was working with fellow beekeepers in a company vehicle in the 6100 block of Brown Road in the early hours of June 4. Police said in a press release Wednesday that the beekeepers were using a forklift to load cargo onto the company vehicle when a 20-year-old driving a Chevy Silverado truck hit the forklift.

Crawford, whom police said was driving the forklift, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was uninjured and wearing a seat belt.
