AUSTIN (KXAN) — With an early exit from the NCAA baseball tournament, some players from the Texas Longhorns have put their names in the transfer portal to change programs.
Corner outfielder Tommy Farmer IV is the latest to declare he's looking for a new program. Eric Henry with 247Sports was the first to report the news, and Farmer's profile on the Texas Longhorns athletics website is no longer available.
Farmer IV finished his sophomore season with the Longhorns, his first under head coach Jim Schlossnagle, starting 48 games and appearing in 58. He had a slash line of .249/.371/.339 with a homer and 13 doubles. He committed one error and notched 78 putouts on defense.
Senior pitcher Ace Whitehead has also entered the portal, looking for another shot at the field as a graduate transfer.
