KELSO, Wash. (KATU) — A teen suspect has been arrested in connection with a planned mass shooting at Three Rivers Mall in Kelso, Wash., the FBI in Portland announced.

FBI agents and local law enforcement partners held a press conference on Thursday announcing the arrest and investigation.

According to the FBI, agents first learned of the plot back on May 19. The next day, on May 20, investigators identified the suspect as a juvenile living in Columbia County.

On May 22, FBI agents, along with Portland SWAT officers and the Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies, served a search warrant at the teen’s home to look for possible evidence. Deputies then arrested the teen.
