Brandon Woodruff has been diagnosed with a right elbow contusion, the Milwaukee Brewers announced June 5, and the right-hander remains on the 15-day injured list after being returned from his minor-league rehab assignment.
Woodruff was injured June 3 when he was struck in the elbow by a 108.2-mph line drive while making what was expected to be his final start at Class AAA Nashville.
From there, Woodruff would have been slotted back into the Brewers' rotation and made his first major-league appearance since September 23, 2023. He underwent major surgery on his right shoulder in October of that year and signed a two-year contract with Milwaukee in March 2024 with an eye on a return to action sometime in 2025.
Now, that return is on hold, again.
This marks the second time Woodruff has
