ATLANTA — Atlanta's downtown district is developing quickly, creating an urgent need for more infrastructure. Georgia Power says that it will include an underground electric transmission and substation near Davis Street and the West End.

"We understand that most customers do not want to have electrical infrastructure near their homes or in their neighborhoods, but we also know that everyone wants reliable and affordable service," said Misty Fernandez, an Atlanta area executive with Georgia Power. "It positions us to be ready for new developments that bring investment and jobs to this part of Atlanta."
