MADISON (WKOW) -- A new health care manufacturing facility, Tekniplex, opened its doors in Madison Thursday.

The facility specializes in sterilized medical barrier films. Those are the films used on medical packaging products.

The group says they have high level machines to work with, but that the facility offers them room to grow.

CEO Suj Mehta, says they are always going to anchor the company in health care, but that they are also always looking to add products, "While this will always be an anchor health care plant, that doesn't mean that we won't traverse into other end markets and categories. I think there is tremendous opportunity to do that."

Mehta says that they chose to "double-down" on Madison after seeing the community and employee support, a "big source of pride" for them.
