INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)–The Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site in Indianapolis is hosting the Juneteenth Foodways Festival, a celebration of freedom and independence, featuring over 20 Black-owned restaurants and food trucks.
The festival, now in its fourth year, aims to empower the local Black community by showcasing a variety of cuisines and cultural activities. Attendees can expect food, family and fun, with offerings ranging from fried fish to etouffee and ribs.
“It’s a way to empower the black people in our community here in Indianapolis,” Mike Gillis said, who has been on the festival’s committee since its inception.
