ELKHART, Ind, (WISH) — Elkhart Police Department officers on Thursday arrested a male suspect after an attempted bank robbery.

At 9:55 a.m. Thursday, Elkhart officers were dispatched to a robbery in progress call at a Horizon Bank in the 1900 block of East Bristol Street. Initial investigation indicated that a male suspect handed an employee a note demanding money. No weapons were displayed.

After officers arrived to the scene, bank employees safely exited the building. Officers took the suspect into custody at about 10:19 a.m.

No injuries were reported during the incident. Investigators believe this is an isolated incident, and there is no further danger to the public. This case will be forwarded to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for review of formal criminal charges. The suspe
