LOWVILLE, New York (WWNY) - The Lowville Academy sports fields sit across the street from the village and town hall, and during certain sporting events, can bring in big crowds.

“To me, I like activity, but I understand there has to be a balance between that and community peace, I guess is the best thing I can say,” said Lowville Mayor Danny Salmon.

Salmon is referring to a jam-packed parking lot.

An agreement between the village and district allows the school to use the lot for overflow parking, but Superintendent Rebecca Dunckel says this is the first time she’s gotten a complaint.

“We had an agreement with the village years ago that we could use the parking not just for our teams but for the community and the other teams, who could come, and we could use the overflow parking there,”
