ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Roanoke County Public Schools officials say they feel the district is not responsible for the suicide of a student in March, according to documents obtained exclusively by Target 7.

The death of 10-year-old Autumn Bushman , a fourth grade student at Mountain View Elementary School, rocked the school system and Roanoke County community. Bushman’s family attributed her death to bullying she endured at school, leading to heated school board meetings, numerous anti-bullying townhall events, and a highly publicized funeral.

But in meetings with teachers last week, administrators pushed back against the claim.
