FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Leaders with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne announced at a press conference on Thursday a new free summer school program in Allen County.
Summer Learning Lab has been active in Indianapolis since 2021.
Now, through the partnership involving Fort Wayne’s BGC, EACS, FWCS, as well as a group of local non-profits, the program is coming to Allen County.
“For us, middle school, especially junior-high age, we don’t have funding from the state for summer programming, so this was our, really our only opportunity to provide some sort of education for our kids,” said Robby Goodman, Secondary Assistant Superintendent at EACS.
