BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) — A man was arrested after an hours-long standoff Wednesday evening.

According to an arrest citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 4:30 p.m. from Donald Burch’s home on Morgantown Road which only said, “Come now, please,” before hanging up.

While enroute, deputies received a report of domestic violence at the residence, and that the man, later identified as Burch, 68, went outside and shot his firearms into the air.

Deputies arrived to find Burch sitting on the porch. Court records state he refused when deputies asked him to come down from the porch and talk to them.

The citation states Burch made statements to the deputies like, “You’re not gonna like me if you come up here,” and “That badge means nothing to me.”
