OMAHA, Neb. —

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office held a news conference regarding the deadly police shooting that happened in May.

Prior to the lieutenant in charge of the of the investigation into the incident, Sheriff Aaron Hanson said DCSO has jurisdiction throughout the whole county. He added that the sheriff's office works with partnering law enforcement agencies to ensure efficiency during investigation.

Lieutenant Jason Stehlik said the whole encounter lasted 17 seconds. During the incident, Janidi Ibrahim pointed a firearm at Deputy Jesse Ronk twice before Ronk fired his weapon.

Earlier Thursday, Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine determined Ronk's use of deadly force was justified .
