On Thursday in Department 17 of the Tulare County Superior Court, South County Justice Center, the court sentenced Erika Sandoval, 38 of Visalia to 50 years to life in prison for the premeditated first-degree murder of her ex-husband, former Exeter police officer Daniel Green.
According to California sentencing laws passed under Assembly Bill 3234 in 2021, Sandoval may be eligible for an elder parole hearing when she reaches the age of 50 and has served 20 years of continuous incarceration for the committed crime.
Sandoval’s first trial in 2019 ended in a hung jury. Her second trial began on February 6,
2025, 10 years to the day of when the crime was committed.
