SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A Sumter man faces kidnapping charges after deputies say they found a victim being held against their will at his home.

Ronald Lamar Brockington, 41, has been charged with kidnapping and first-degree domestic violence after someone reported they were injured and feared Brockington might kill them.

Sumter County Sheriff's deputies were called to a property on Greenville Circle, where they conducted a search of Brockington's home.

Although Brockington initially told deputies he was alone, they discovered a victim in a bedroom with serious injuries consistent with an assault.

Brockington said he had not seen the victim in about a week.

The victim was transported by emergency medical services to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital with severe injuries.
