WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — Purdue University has severed ties with “The Purdue Exponent,” the university’s now-former independently run student newspaper.

According to an article published on June 5, Purdue University sent an email to “The Exponent” at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Friday, stating that the university would no longer facilitate the distribution of the newspaper on campus effective Thursday.

According to “The Exponent” their paper can still be delivered to newspaper racks around campus, but Purdue University will no longer provide assistance with distribution.

According to “The Exponent,” the Purdue Student Publishing Association made the following statement at a meeting on Wednesday night:

“The PSPF is shocked by Purdue’s sudden and seemingly-without-explanation change
