WOODVILLE, Texas — No criminal charges have been filed yet in connection with an incident at Woodville Middle School where several students suffered burns while performing "bear crawls" on a hot track during a pre-athletics class.

The investigation has been transferred to the Tyler County District Attorney's Office for review, Woodville Police Chief Mike McCulley told 12News. McCulley says he was told the DA's office may present the case to a grand jury this week, though he has not been notified if this has happened yet.
