GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — Established in 1783, Greeneville is one of Tennessee's towns. Today, it's a perfect mix of U.S. history, culture and a love of the great outdoors.

"Small town, that extra 'E' is for excellence and exceptional," said Greene County Partnership President and CEO Jeff Taylor.

U.S. history is at the center of Greeneville, literally. The Andrew Johnson National Historic Site follows his journey from taking a job as a teenage tailor, all the way to becoming the 17th president of the United States.

"He is the only president to ever serve in every public elected office, from city or town councilperson all the way to the president of the United States," said Taylor.
