Chattanooga, TN (WDEF)- Community leaders gathered at Ross’s Landing Thursday to thank Governor Bill Lee and state lawmakers for committing $15 million in the state’s 2025–2026 budget to transform Chattanooga’s riverfront parks.

Local officials, including Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly and Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp, say the investment will be a game-changer for families, tourism, and the city’s connection to nature.

“This is going to be a whole new place in the next couple of years,” said Bill, a local advocate. “People love the natural beauty of downtown—and this project builds on that.”

Mayor Tim Kelly announced the city will contribute an additional $5 million over the next two years, saying the project honors the city’s past while embracing a more vibrant, inclusive future.
