Vanderbilt men’s basketball has secured its eighth NCAA transfer portal addition of 2025, but Commodores fans won’t see him play until the 2026-27 season.

Former Eastern Kentucky guard George Kimble III has committed to Vandy and will sit out the 2025-26 season as he recovers from knee surgery he underwent earlier this year, per the On3 recruiting website .

On3 and 247Sports designated Kimble as a four-star transfer, with On3 giving him a transfer portal rating of 92.74.

The 6-2, 184-pound Kimble, a rising junior, put up impressive numbers in his first season with the Colonels in 2024-25, averaging 18.0 points, 3.2 assists and 2.6 steals per contest en route to second team All-Atlantic Sun Conference honors.
